DOG is a foundation that collects dogs in Georgia (country). There are about 25,000 stray dogs alone in the capital, causing nuisance through hunger and disease and are a danger to traffic.
Because of this they are treated badly, hit or scavenged by the government. DOG has set itself the goal of improving the lives of these dogs by:
- Shelter and medical care
- Sterilization campaigns
- Information campaigns
- Consultation with authorities
- Adoption program (in Georgia)
Volunteers can visit DOG any day of the week and spend time with the dog’s they are taking care of. Usually, volunteers take them for walks around Lisi Lake in Tbilisi where the shelter is located.
