Kale is BFC’s Vegetable of the Year 2017. In celebration, BFC have sent out high quality seeds to partners in several countries. We will be mapping the journey of growing kale right through to serving it for dinner; this will include showcasing articles, photos, artwork, recipes, videos, and ideas.

Black Cabbage

Also known as Black Tuscan Palm, as it resembles a palm tree, it has a dark green, almost black colour; the leaves are long and narrow. Its characteristic flavour recalls the taste of broccoli.

Kale “Westland Winter”

Also known as Curly Kale. This variety is characterised by its tall growth and very curly, dark green leaves. It tends to grow vertically.

BFC Awards will be presented at the end of 2017 for Best Social Initiative and Best Kale Contribution. All posts made to the iSHARE Facebook group will be automatically nominated and every post tagged with #kale will be entered into the kale category. A qualifying post could be a tasty recipe, a photo of your garden, a video, a business idea, or anything else you want to share.

Капуста кале — один из самых полезных видов капусты. Однако овощ остается практически неизвестным во многих странах, и мы решили это исправить.

Наступающий 2017-ый мы официально объявляем годом капусты кале. На наших «зеленых» ресурсах вы найдете множество информации о ней: статьи, фотографии, рецепты, видео и т.д.

Черная капуста / Тосканская капуста

Ее также называют «Черной тосканской пальмой» из-за листьев, напоминающих это дерево. Капуста темно-зеленого, почти черного цвета. Листья длинные и узкие. По вкусу напоминает брокколи.

Капуста кале «Westland Winter»

Также известна как кудрявая капуста. Листья волнистые, темно-зеленые. Растет вертикально.
